School Report Card and Data

Dear Parents and Community Members,

The report card issued by the Oregon Department of Education provides a picture of the academics and growth at Four Rivers Community School.  During the 2014-2015 school year, Oregon replaced the OAKS test with the new Smarter Balanced test. The new tests are more complex with critical thinking skills, problem solving, writing, and are aligned to the new Common Core State Standards.  For this reason, individual student scores as well as school and district scores look lower this year across the state of Oregon.  We expect these results to improve over time.

Schools will not receive a “rating” from the State of Oregon this year during this transition.  Though not reflected in this report card, Four Rivers Community School test data reflected impressive growth for students in English Language Arts.  We are proud of the achievements that students are making in two languages and appreciate your continued support.  Please help your child experience academic success by attending school every day, attending parent workshops, and communicating with your child’s teacher.  Thank you for your support!
